A website built for your business, in about a week.
Whether you have nothing yet or something you are embarrassed to hand out the address for, I design and code the front end for your business specifically. No theme and no page builder underneath it. About a week once the brief is agreed and I have your words, your photos and your domain. At the end the files are yours, on your own hosting, with no monthly fee to keep your own site online.
What it costs
Three sizes, and the difference is how much site you need. The page counts are what I price from, not a rule I hold you to. A six-page site is not a different product from a five-page one and I am not going to make you buy the next size up over it.

- Everything in Standard
Standard is the one I point most people at, because it is the first size where nothing has been left out. Everything here is a starting price against a rough shape of job, and if what you need sits between two of them I will quote it between two of them. These are my prices while I build up a body of client work, and they go up once it is built.
What I build, and what I don’t
Worth two minutes now, because for some projects it means I am only half of what you need, and you should find that out here instead of three emails in.
The front end
- The design, and the code that puts it on screen: HTML, CSS, and the behaviour in the browser.
- Every page laid out and written for your business rather than dropped into a template.
- Speed, phone layouts, keyboard use and screen readers, all treated as part of the job.
- Deployed to your own hosting and domain and handed over working, with the files yours to keep.
Anything that runs on a server
- No database, no customer accounts or logins, no shop checkout, no booking system.
- No CMS or admin area for editing the site yourself, and no web app.
- Contact forms included: I do not write the code behind one. If your site needs a form I will fit a hosted form service into the design, or drop in one you already pay for, so the front of it matches everything else.
- No ongoing server maintenance, because there is no server to maintain.
If your project needs anything from that second list, you need a back-end developer as well as me, and I would rather say so on the first call than take the job and find out halfway through. Plenty of small business sites need none of it, and those are the ones I am the right person for.
Keeping it up to date
Prices change, staff change, opening hours change over Christmas, and the photos go stale. A care plan means you send me the change and it gets done, instead of it sitting on your to-do list for eight months. Optional, and taken alongside a build rather than on its own.
Basic
£29/month
- Two changes a month
- I reply the next working day
Standard
£69/month
- Five changes a month
- I reply within four hours
- Text, prices and opening hours
- Photo swaps, edited and fitted
- A seasonal refresh twice a year
- A review call once a year
Priority
£129/month
- Changes whenever you need them
- I reply within two hours, within reason
- New sections using the existing design
- Everything in Standard
If you stop paying, nothing happens.
Your site is yours and it stays online either way. The plan pays for changes, not for keeping your site alive, which is the opposite of how Wix and Squarespace work. A small change means a text edit, a price update, a photo swap or your opening hours. A new page or a redesign is its own job and I will quote it as one.
Pay for ten months up front and get the year.
The one with a real client
S.H.I.P.S. Physio is a specialist home-physiotherapy practice in Devon. Here is the homepage as I found it, and as it is now. Drag the handle across, or tab to it and use the arrow keys.
Two more, built without a client
Both of these are concept builds: invented companies, built properly. They are here on purpose. A concept build is the same work as a commission minus the client, and it lets me show what I would do for your business before there is a version of it with your name on. Each is labelled for what it is.
A concept build for an invented photography studio, made to work through one problem properly: how a layout gets out of the way when the images have to be the loudest thing on the page. An offset type panel that never competes with the picture behind it, and a portfolio structure quiet enough to let photographs carry it. No client, no commission; the imagery is placeholder.
A concept build for a technical brand, here because it sits at the opposite end of the range from the other two: a terminal-flavoured interface with a system-aware light and dark theme, and a consent model that sets nothing beyond what the site genuinely needs. It was never launched as a business, so the build is the point.
How a build runs
A brief, then a design you approve
What the site is for, who it is for, and what it has to make happen, all agreed first. That is also where we work out whether any of it needs a back end, because if it does you will want a developer alongside me. You see and sign off the design direction before a line of it gets built.
Yours at the end
Real files on your own hosting and domain. No monthly fee to keep your own site online, and no platform you have to keep renting to stay live.
Everything this covers
One person across the whole build, so the design, the words and the code never disagree with each other.
Design, drawn for you
Its own layout and type, chosen against what the business is. No template with the colours swapped.
Real HTML and CSS
Written for your site specifically rather than assembled from a stack of plugins, which is most of why these load quickly and keep working.
Copy written for the page
The words are part of the build. No lorem ipsum, no placeholder text left for you to fix, no invented claims about your business.
Accessibility built in
Keyboard navigation, screen-reader semantics and real colour contrast, treated as requirements and never quoted as an upgrade.
Findable
Clean markup, real page titles and descriptions, and a sitemap, so search engines get something legible to read.
Contact, fitted rather than built
If you want a form, I fit a hosted form service into the design so it matches the page and messages reach your inbox. I do not write the code behind it, which is the line drawn further up this page.
Deployed and live
Your files put on your own hosting and domain and handed over working. Static files being served, so there is nothing running on a server to go wrong or need paying for.
Changes afterwards
Ongoing edits when the business changes, either on a care plan or one at a time. Nothing is required to keep the site online.
Your site could be live in a week.
Start a projectTwo of the three above are concept builds, and that is deliberate. The layout, the type and the code get decided the same way whether or not there is an invoice attached. Sites start at £100, and looking after one afterwards starts at £29 a month.
